Sell me a Tory

Fraser Grant (Letters, 18 April) tells us that, according to the Electoral Commission, there is no such thing as the Scottish Conservative Party. Well, my wife received a receipt yesterday from “The Edinburgh Branch of the Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party” thanking her for renewing her membership.

Should she ask for her money back as, according to Mr Grant, there is no such body (only a branch of the UK party) or will she write to the Electoral Commission asking for clarification?
