Polls apart

-

It’s interesting to see polls showing that Labour have overtaken the Conservatives and the rise of the new Brexit party in the polls. Like many, I’m sceptical of them after they failed to predict the Brexit vote or 2017 general election.

No poll predicted also the SNP losing 21 seats in the 2017 election either, or there being a minority government in London.

I think polling figures give a false narrative to parties. Alex Salmond thought, looking at the polls, that he would coast to a win in Gordon, but

he lost. To me the only thing that matters is the ballots cast on voting day not polls. EWAN BIRNIE Glenshee Road, Braemar, Ballater
