Aberdeen’s Wood welcomes DS Smith finance boss to board

The finance boss of global packaging business DS Smith is joining the board of Wood, the Aberdeen-headquarte­red energy and engineerin­g services group.

Adrian Marsh will join the firm as a non-executive director on 10 May following its annual general meeting. He will also be appointed chair of the audit committee with effect from 1 September.

Marsh is currently group finance director of DS Smith, a position he has held since September 2013. He was previously head of tax, treasury and corporate finance at Tesco and has also held divisional chief financial officer positions at drugs giant Astrazenec­a and glass-maker Pilkington. Following Marsh’s appointmen­t, as previously indicated, Jann Brown will retire as a non-executive director and chair of Wood’s audit committee on 1 September.

Ian Marchant, who previously said he was standing down as chairman, said: “I am delighted to welcome Adrian to the board. His strong financial expertise and broad experience in senior finance roles with listed multinatio­nal companies will strengthen the board and the audit committee, which he will chair following his appointmen­t.
