Second teen charged over Gilmerton attack

Police have arrested and charged a second 16-yearold boy in connection with an attempted murder on Gilmerton Road.

A 16-year old boy was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after the attack at about 5:10pm on Sunday.

Police said the arrested teenager had also been charged with possession of a knife. He was expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday. Another 16-year-old boy was arrested on Thursday.

Detective Sergeant Mark Lumsden said: “We are satisfied that we are not looking for anyone else.”
