Sailor airlifted to hospital over medical issue

A man has been taken to hospital by helicopter after a medical issue on board a supply boat.

The Aberdeen Coastguard was alerted to reports of an unwell crewman at about 9:55am yesterday. A HM Coastguard spokesman said: “We had a medivac in the North Sea, 60 nautical miles north of Peterhead, after reports were received of an unwell crewman at 9:55am.”

It is not known what medical issue the man suffered.
