Specialist in baby food seeing firm grow at pace

An entreprene­ur who grew up on a fruit farm in Fife is targeting the organic baby food market with a rapidly-expanding brand that has secured listings in all major supermarke­ts.

Alicefothe­ringhamisc­ofounder and head of nutrition at Piccolo, having grown up making jams, jellies, cakes and cordials in the seasonal farm shop and tea room with her mum.

In just under three years its products are in all major supermarke­ts, with Fotheringh­am over the past 12 months having secured listings in Tesco and Sainsbury’s, helping Piccolo lay claim to being a top-growing baby food brand with value up 87.8 per cent to £2.4 million on volumes up 72.4 per cent.

The London firm donates 10 per cent of its profits to help food education, and has just launched Mighty Squeeze, a squeezable snack range for toddlers.
