David Page, 72, became the oldest-ever competitor in the World Coal Carrying Championships, as he carried his 50kg (7st 12lb) load in sweltering 20C conditions. This year was the warmest in it’s 56 year history – last year’s event in West Yorkshire was nearly called off due to snow.
