Agenda gap

-

The row over the Scottish National Party’s stance on gender is not going away (your report, 22 April). The SNP is becoming a political party that acts first and thinks afterwards. Even some of its own MSPS are acutely aware of the inconsistencies that the leadership are blithely ignoring in this case.

The SNP have a track record of other grandiose schemes that have hit the buffers, such as the Named Persons Act, the Offensive Behaviour at Football Act, and even John Swinney’s Primary One tests.

It now appears even the plans to create a Scottish currency are suspect. It is no wonder most Scots voted against the ultimate ill-thought-out folly, that of independence. Is this going to be the straw that breaks the camel’s back? (DR) GERALD EDWARDS
