Arrest over shooting of Bradley Welsh
Detectives have arrested a man in connection with the murder of Bradley Welsh outside his West End home.
Boxing gym owner and T2 actor Mr Welsh, 48, was gunned down in Chester Street on Wednesday evening.
Police refused to release any further details of the man who was apprehended before being released pending further inquiries.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “This investigation is continuing and anyone who has information, but has yet to come forward, is asked to do so immediately.”
The steps to Mr Welsh’s basement flat where he was found dying at 8pm last Wednesday were still covered by a protective forensics tent yesterday.
A police cordon of Chester Street was still in place while tributes to Mr Welsh adorned the railings to nearby Drumsheugh Gardens.
They included signed boxing gloves in memory of the Holyrood Boxing gym boss as well as flowers and cards of condolence.
Among the green and white messages to Hibs fan Mrwelshwereascarf in the colours of Edinburgh rivals Hearts and a Rangers teddy bear.
