Sheet lunacy
Re eliminating till receipts (your report, 23 April). While all till receipts should be recycled if possible, and banned or significantly reduced, there are many other examples of unthinking, exorbitant wastage of paper, often by government departments and the NHS – for example, badly designed stationery using half the page for pre-printed data about the sending authority, augmented by poorly laid-out text, thus “requiring” a second sheet complete with metal staple, often used solely for the sender’s signature at the top.
