Keothavong joins line-up for Brodies Invitation­al

Team GB Fed Cup captain Anne Keothavong and former World No 9 Dominique Monami are the latest tennis stars to join the lineup for the Brodies Invitation­al in June.

Tennis fans will be treated to a special mixed doubles exhibition match on Thursday 13 June at the Gleneagles Arena, where Keothavong will pair up with Tim Henman to take on Monami and Henri Leconte.

Keothavong’s Team GB claimed a 3-1 win over Kazakhstan at the weekend and secured a return to the World Group level of the Fed Cup for the first time since 1993. During her career she won 20 singles and eight doubles titles on the ITF Women’s Circuit, reaching a career-high singles ranking of World No 48 in 2009.

Keothavong said: “I’m really looking forward to taking to the court in front of a Scottish audience. The line-up for the three days is world-class and will certainly deliver exciting and entertaini­ng tennis.”

In addition to the exhibition mixed doubles, the Thursday evening fixtures include a masterclas­s from Judy Murray and some ofthecount­ry’smostpromi­sing junior players, as well as Atpchampio­nstourtenn­is featuring former British No 1 Henman, former World No 1 Juan Carlos Ferrero, former World No 4 and 2016 Brodies Invitation­al Champion Thomas Enqvist and former World No 5 Leconte.

Fed Cup coach Colin Fleming and returning favourite Xavier Malisse will also take part in this year’s event.
