Rangers are better than us, a look at the table confirms the gap. But surely at Tynecastle we should expect the players to show more fight?

It was the visitors who snapped into tackles, twice robbing possession from dithering midfielders for the opening goals. Hibs on Sunday demonstrated the perfect gameplan, pressing and then composed in possession. If our strategy was pressing, as the manager suggested, some players didn’t get the memo. Having lost two goals as we did, the players reverted to panicked long balls.

We need to work out a plan for Sunday’s derby and back it up with spirit and belief. Ultimately players lose managers their jobs and it’s on their performances he should be judged.
