Partick Thistle Harkins proved us wrong

Last week I said our game against Alloa was a must win. That wasn’t looking likely after 45 minutes but a couple of crucial half-time substitutions made Thistle look a different team and a great finish by Joe Cardle and a terrific Scott Mcdonald free-kick brought three vital points.

With our game in hand played in midweek against Ayr it was a chance to really put pressure on. A spirited and resolute performance at Somerset Park brought a 1-0 victory, a terrific finish by the impressive Shea Gordon separating the sides and moving Thistle to sixth in the division.

A word of praise for Gary Harkins: I and many others have b een critical of him but he has proved us wrong in the last two games. Raymond Stark
