Man jailed for dog fighting offences

A man who kept three dogs for fighting has been jailed for seven months.

Sean Ward was also banned from keeping dogs for 20 years when he was sentenced at Greenock Sheriff Court. The 27-year-old, from Port Glasgow in Inverclyde, was caught when a woman filmed him with an injured Jack Russell terrierlast year.

Scottish SPCA inspectors raided Ward’s home, along with police. The dog was examined by a vet and found to have injuries consistent with fighting with a badger.
