Billionaire ‘grateful’ for support after Sri Lanka

- By ANGUS HOWARTH

Scotland’s biggest landowner has described the loss of three of his four children in the Sri Lanka terror attacks as “completely incomprehensible”.

Anders Holch Povlsen, who owns more than 220,00 acres across the Highlands, was visiting the country with his family. The attacks claimed the lives of his son, Alfred, and his daughters, Alma and Agnes.

In a text message read aloud to mourners at a memorial service on Thursday evening in the Danish town of Brande, Mr Hoch Povlsen said he was “deeply grateful” for the support people have shown.

The message, read by pastor Arne Holst-larsen, added: “With the many lovely people we have around us, close friends, talented colleagues and our loving family we will come together through it.”
