Peterhead on brink of title success

-

Major issues at the top and bottom of League 2 could be decided this afternoon, with the league title in the grasp of Peterhead, whereas Berwick Rangers need to defeat Albion Rovers to avoid fighting for survival in the pyramid play-offs.

A win for the Blue Toon over visitors Stirling Albion will deliver League 1 football with a game to spare and manager Jim Mcinally said: “I would like the players to harness the positive energy they will pick up from the crowd and play with a bit of freedom.”

After looking doomed for most of the season Albion Rovers will secure the Great Escape if they draw or win at Shielfield. “To be going into it with the chance of safety shows how well our players have done in the last quarter,” said boss Kevin Harper.
