#KEZIA

Former Scottish Labour leader Kezia Dugdale has refused to deny claims she will quit Holyrood this summer. It’s understood she has made the decision amid frustration over her party’s position on Brexit and Jeremy Corbyn’s failure to get behind a “People’s Vote.

@robdn wrote: “Kezia Dugdale, a member of #Labour’s centrist wing, has made little secret of her unhappiness with Labour’s stance on EU membership and has demanded Corbyn campaigns for a second vote on any #Brexit deal.”

@Hawkheadnimby tweeted: “When you have no appeal to either the electorate or your colleagues it is time to revalue what you are about.”

@John_knocks said: “Not sure anybody would notice if she did.”

@mredinburgh quipped: “Kfc is getting a new staff member.”

@ian_itanderson said:

“If this is true, it will be a sad loss. One of the few true labour people left in Scotland.”

@Boomadame added: “OK, no big deal. Please, a strong Leader for Labour in Scotland, one who will actively oppose the Brexit shambles.” @meljomur said: “So Kezia Dugdale is leaving Holyrood in June. Hmmm. Has her partner finally converted her to YES?”

#EDBALLSDAY

Sunday marked eight years since the inaugural #Edballsday, the day when then Labour MP Ed Balls sensationally tweeted nothing but his own name. The 2011 incident sparked a social media meltdown that is now marked annually.

@helenridge01 said: “Could hardly sleep last night as too excited! Happy #Edballsday everyone!”

@Childs4tessa wrote: “Is it Ed Balls Day the years go so quickly. Happy Ed Balls Day @Treasurymog and all other Whitehall cats, all my friends and family .... etc etc”

@Scalyface tweeted: “Have a safe and happy Ed Balls Day. And remember all those people who don’t celebrate it due to different beliefs.”

@Bjrose added: “This #Edballsday, please remember to call a loved one. Call them, say nothing but your own name, and hang up immediately.”

@dannybhoy101 said: “Do we still get tomorrow off as Ed Balls day falls on a Sunday this year?”

@Emmacasson_ replied: “I think it’s the Ed Balls Day sales tomorrow.”
