Grange roar past Wildcats to reach final

-

Grange mauled Western Wildcats 8-3 to reach next weekend’s Scottish Cup final, when they will meet Grove Menzieshill who handed out a 6-1 thumping to Edinburgh University.

Grange took an early twogoal lead through Robbie Shepherdson and Duncan Riddell. Wildcats hit back with two goals in three minutes, but Jacob Tweedie and a Dan Coultas penalty corner restored Grange’s two-goal advantage.

Early in the second half Wildcats brought the score back to 4-3, but were then ripped apart with strikes from Coultas again, Frank Ryan, Alan Johnston and finally Cammie Fraser.

Menzieshill totally dominated their tie with doubles from Aidan Mcquade and Cammie Golden, Jack Jamieson getting the consolation for the students.

Second division Erskine Stewart’s Melville fell 3-1 to Dundee Wanderers in the women’s semi-final. In the other tie holders Edinburgh University edged past Watsonians 2-0.
