BY GEORGE: ANOTHER TON FOR MUNSEY

-

George Munsey continued his stunning form with the bat yesterday, with Scotland’s first international of the summer against Afghanistan now just over a week away.

On Easter Sunday the 26-year-old had smashed 147 from 39 balls in a Twenty20 match for Gloucestershire second XI and yesterday he was plundering more runs for the Eastern Knights as the Regional Series 50-over competition got underway north of the border. Munsey, pictured, made his century in just 37 balls and went on to make 139 in total against the Western Warriors at Raeburn Place in Edinburgh. His Mazars Grange team-mate Dylan Budge showed he is keen for a Scotland recall by helping himself to a century as the home side posted a daunting 370-5 batting first. In reply the Warriors could never really get up with the required run rate and were 210 all out to lose by 160 runs. The Knights face the Caledonian Highlanders at the same ground today.
