Menzies on cloud nine with latest airport deals

- By SCOTT REID

John Menzies, the Edinburgh-based aviation services group, has secured a series of contract wins and renewals across its UK business.

Canadian airline Westjet has extended its agreement for passenger, flight ops, ramp handling and deicing services at Glasgow Airport, where Menzies has been the carrier’s ground handling partner since 2015.

At London’s Heathrow, Egyptair has renewed its contract with Menzies World Cargo for a threeyear term. Operating a daily Boeing 777 and double daily Boeing 737 service, Egyptair is the fourth largest airline to operate through Menzies’ Heathrow cargo warehouse.

The Scots group also unveiled deals at London Gatwick, with Jazeera Airways, and London Luton, with Iag-owned Level.

Giles Wilson, interim chief executive of John Menzies, said: “It is great to see some momentum across the UK business. Not only is this growth coming from new contract wins, but also multiple contract renewals.”
