Creature comforts: Penguin chick huddles with parents

-

A week-old northern rockhopper penguin chick is flanked by its parents as it settles into life at Edinburgh Zoo. The two adults, named Amy and Gordon, welcomed three tiny hatchlings last week, which have yet to be named. The chicks, who weigh less than a bag of sugar apiece, will nest with their parents until around late July.

Northern rockhopper populations are declining in the wild, and the zoo hopes the chicks will play a part in raising awareness about the threats they face from pollution, hunting and climate change.
