Man charged for alleged racial slur during game

A man has been charged for making an alleged racial slur in an incident at an amateur football match in Aberdeen.

The alleged incident occurred at an amateur first division league game between Aberdeen University Football Club and Kincorth Amateurs at Tullos on 20 April.

A spokeswoman for the university’s student association claimed the slur had been aimed at one of their players.

The university football team walked off the pitch.

Police Scotland said a 29-year-old man had been charged.
