- By HANNAH BURLEY

Standard Life Foundation has opened a new round of business proposals for its grants to help improve financial health and wellbeing in the UK.

The Edinburgh-based charity, which is chaired by former Chancellor of the Exchequer Alistair Darling, intends to provide grants worth a combined £2 million this year.

It is currently inviting proposals from organisations seeking funding for policy work, campaigning and research focused on its three programme areas of income, spending and assets.

This marks the foundation’s second and final funding round in 2019, with the application deadline set for 3 June.

Standard Life Foundation chief executive Mubin Haq said: “We want to offer more than just money and want to be engaged in the issues we’re funding.

“We encourage people to get in touch with their ideas for how we can ensure we improve living standards and tackle financial problems.”
