Pitlowie Cottage lies near the settlement of Pitroddie at the foot of the Sidlaw Hills, in Perthshire.

With four public rooms and five bedrooms, the house’s interior is a mix of bespoke burr oak fitted furniture, exposed timbers and

vaulted ceilings with beams. Balconies offer views across the Carse of Gowrie and the River Tay.

The house has a detached studio, housing an office and spa, with sauna, steam room and hot tub in its ten-acre grounds.

But the best bit is up a private staircase in the main house, where the master bedroom has French doors opening to a balcony with timber decking and wrought iron railings. The bedroom has a sitting area, dressing room and three bay windows.

A glazed partition wall, which becomes opaque with the flick of a switch, reveals a master bathroom with a copper roll-top bath and tiles which conceal spotlights, integrated speakers and a TV. Bliss...
