Drizzle in the morning for many, especially in northern and southeaste­rn Scotland. In the afternoon, much of southern Scotland will have showers, while in the evening central and western Scotland will have showers and drizzle.

OUTLOOK

There will be a chance of some snow for northern parts of Scotland throughout most of Friday. This will continue into most of Saturday. It will be a cloudy and fairly wet end to the weekend, with some drizzle in northern areas.

Shetland, Orkney:

A windy day once more. It will be mainly cloudy in the morning. Sunny periods later, but an isolated shower is possible too. A strong northerly wind. Max temp 6-9C (43-48F). Tonight, wintry showers. Min temp 0-3C (32-37F).

Caithness, Grampians, Strathspey, Moray Firth, Inverness, Aberdeensh­ire, Lowlands:

It will be be cloudy and wet with light and patchy rain or drizzle for much of the day. A drier evening but still cloudy. A moderate northerly breeze. Max temp 7-10C (45-50F). Tonight, cloudy skies. Min temp -1 to 2C (30 to 36F).

Western Isles, North-west Highlands, Skye, Glen Mor, Argyll:

It is going to be a wet morning with some light rain. Brighter during the afternoon and becoming mainly dry. A fresh northerly wind. Max temp 9-12C (48-54F). Tonight, cloudy skies. Min temp 3-6C (37-43F).

The Borders, the Lothians including Perth and Stirling areas, Fife, Angus including Dundee:

It will be an unsettled and wet day with a lot of cloud and showers or longer spells of rain, some heavy in the morning. A moderate north-easterly breeze. Max temp 11-14C (52-57F). Tonight, cloudy skies. Min temp 3-6C (37-43F).

Glasgow area, Lanarkshir­e, Firth of Clyde, Ayrshire, Galloway, Dumfriessh­ire:

It will be a wet day as rain and showers will persist through the day. Max temp 10-15C (50-59F). Tonight, light drizzle. Min temp 4-8C (39-46F).

London, SE England, Cent S England, E Anglia, Channel Is:

A dry and clear morning will be followed by showers in the afternoon. Max temp 13-16C (55-61F). Tonight, dry but cloudy. Min temp 5-7C (41-45F).
