- By ANGUS HOWARTH

Sir Andy Murray is to launch a range of fashionable tennis clothing in an attempt to make the sport stylish again.

The three-time Grand Slam champion will help design a line of sportswear which can be worn both on and off the tennis court.

Murray has joined the board of his kit supplier Castore and has committed to work with the company after his retirement from the sport.

The 31-year- old said: “Tennis used to be stylish, whereas now players wear clothes that stand out on the T V, but not necessarily things you might wear if you were going out for a drink with friends.”

The former world number one said he had focused more on business investments since being struck down with a hip injury.

Murray, who is currently recovering from a hip resurfacing operation, has invested in more than 30 start-up companies through the crowdfunding platform Seedrs and owns the f ive-star Croml ix House Hotel near his home town of Dunblane.
