Competitors throw in annual Scottish Open championships

Axe-wielding competitors from across Europe gathered at Scone Palace for the 15th Scottish Axe Throwing Open.

Throwers aim to hit a target with their axes, while the sport was also op en to memb ers of the public to tr y their hand at the ancient pursuit. The event was the first time Scone Palace has hosted the Open. The Scottish Knight League returned to the event demonstrating their medieval combat skills .
