Uber drivers plan mass strike over unresolved pay
Drivers at minicab firm Uber are planning to strike today ahead of the company’s stock market flotation tomorrow.
Protests will be held in Glasgow, London, Birmingham and Nottingham, as well as a nine-hour boycott of Uber’s app.
The United Private Hire Drivers Branch of the Independent Workers Union of Great Britain said the flotation was going ahead even while drivers’ pay issues remain unresolved.
Spokesman James Farra said: “Uber’s flotation is shaping up to be an unprecedented international orgy of greed.”
