Nuclear tension: Protests in Iran as minister warns Europe to honour deal
Iranian demonstrators raise placards and a portrait of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as they chant anti- US slogans during a rally in the capital Tehran. US President Donald Trump pulled the United States out of the agreement in May of last year and reinstated unilateral economic sanctions. Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned European signatories of the 2015 deal they should not underestimate Iran’s will to implement a step- by- step reduction of its commitments. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said signatories to the deal have two months to come up with a plan to shield his country - already labouring under economic hardship from the sanctions imposed by President Donald Trump.
