# FREDDIESTARR Fans and peers took to social media to pay their respects after the comic’s death.

@ neilhurst wrote: ” Sad news, worked with # Freddiestarr a couple of times and although he was absolute madness both onstage and off you couldn’t knock the fact that he was an amazing comedian and showman. He’ll be sadly missed.”

@ Amandaholden added: “Sad to hear of Freddie Starr passing today. His style may have fallen out of comedy fashion & favour but it’s important to recognise his once- huge popularity and fame. The outrageous & edgy parodies were infamous. I hope his legacy is not smalled down and he’s remembered with a smile.” WWE Star William Regal

@ Realkingregal posted: “Sad to hear about the passing of the great Freddie Starr. What an incredible live act that I was fortunate to see many times.”

@ billyneat added: “For those old enough to remember him Freddie Starr was hilarious back in the day. One of the few comedians I can remember making me cry with laughter.”

@ Matthewjrudd tweeted: “Freddie Starr, troubled as they come, mad and

dangerous, but God he was funny. # RIP”

A city centre tram loop would be built in the heart of Edinburgh under the biggest proposed transport overhaul of the Scottish capital in living memory.

@ johnwalllace said: “Quite impressed with the ambition of this. Maybe we’ll look back in 20 years time and think we weren’t really making the most of public space; we just got used to it being crowded/ accepted it?”

@ Careytourism added:

“So @ Edinburgh_ CC is now proposing what is essentially the original plan as if it’s new and inspired; it’s not! It’s just that the old administration lacked ambition and capability to deliver.”

@ Jenbman8 barked: “Edinburgh Trams are the laughing stock of the UK.”

@ carrona tweeted: “Edinburgh doesn’t need any more massive ( old tech) railway- sized carriages rumbling through the city. A network of energy efficient buses with priority routing would suffice. The current trams are a filthy scar on Edinburgh’s landscape.”

@ Getagrip1962 proposed: “Electric clean buses free for all. No need to dig up any more streets. Less danger for cyclists.”
