Hamleys sold to Indian billionaire

Hamleys, the world’s oldest toy shop, has been bought by India’s rich est man for an undisclosed sum.

Mukesh Am ban i’ s Reliance Brands business has secured a deal to buy the retailer from Chinese fashion conglomerate C Banner International. The move brings to an end Ham leys’ f our-year spell under the HongKong based firm, which bought it for £ 100 million. Hamleys operates 167 stores globally.
