Jobs at risk af­ter high street blow

High street f ash­ion chain Se­lect has plunged into ad­min­is­tra­tion, putting 1,800 jobs at risk.

The ap­point­ment of ad­min­is­tra­tor Quan­tuma comes al­most a year af­ter the re­tailer re­sorted to a com­pany vol­un­tary ar­range­ment to slash its rent bill. The chain – owned by Cafer Mahi­roglu – op­er­ates from 169 stores in Eng­land and Wales and tar­gets 18- 35 year olds.
