If you’re a brunch fan who fancies something a bit more inventive than avo on toast, get along to Glasgow’s So L. A. It’s just launched its Cali Brunch, which is available on Saturdays

( 12- 4pm) and Sundays ( 11am- 4pm). Among other things, there will be French toast ( pictured, £ 9) topped with fruit, flowers, flaming crème brûlée and Hennessey maple syrup, a croissant burger stuffed with mac ‘ n’ cheese, streaky bacon and poached egg (£ 10), a shareable “steak and eggs 90210” featuring chateaubri­and (£ 60) and an eggs Benedict (£ 12), with soft shell crab and sweetcorn alongside the usual muffins and hollandais­e.
