Charles Avery: The Gates of Onomatopoeia
Since 2004, Charles Avery has been working on his lifelong project, The Islanders, expanding with every exhibition the fictional world which is one part Mull, one part Hackney and two parts his boundless imagination. This new show takes us deep into the capital city of Onomatopoeia, from the young radicals arguing politics in the intriguingly named Union Cafe to the beasts scavenging in the marketplace. Includes major new drawings and sculpture.
