Stenhousem­uir relegated after Annan defeat

Stenhousem­uir were rele - gated from League 1 following their 2-1 defeat by visitors Annan that completed a 4-1 aggregate victory for the Galabank men.

Peter head will step up to Scotland’s third tier after winning League 2 and they will be joined by either the Black and Golds or Clyde after the Bully Wee defeated Edinburgh City 3-0 at Broadwood to complete an overall 4-0 success.

Kyle Bradley built on the twogoal advantage that Annan secured in the first leg after only ten minutes when he thump ed home following a corner but David Marsh put the Warriors into the tie eight minutes from the break when he converted a cross.

However, Steven Swing lehurst took the wind out of their sails 17 minutes from time when he net ted from close range.

Annan manager Peter Murphy said: “We were under pressure but we remained calm and saw things out. We were the underdogs and will be again in the final but that does not worry us.”

St en house muir manager Colin Mcmenamin said: “We are devastated and we will look to bounce back straight away.”

Clyde easily brushed aside the challenge of the Citizens with David Goodwillie darting past Conrad Balatoni before setting up Kristoffer Syver tsen for a tap-in on 14 minutes to open the scoring.

Ally Love slid one home after 48 minutes and Go o dwillie completed the scoring with a header on 58 minutes. Love said: “Annan are on a good run so it will be tough.”

City boss James M cD ona ugh said :“We have had a good season but that was not good enough. Some players have played themselves out of a future here.”
