Rea closes gap on Bautista in Imola

SUPER BIKES Reigning champion Jonathan Rea won yesterday’ s Superpole sprint at Imola, 2.141 seconds ahead of Welshman Chaz Davies.

The Northern Irishman, who is aiming for a fifth title, reduced the gap to championship leader AlvaroB au ti st a to 43 points.

Rea had won Saturday’s opening race to end Bautista’s run of 11 wins.
