#MARR

Nigel Farage erupted in fury on the Andrew Marr Show yesterday when quizzed about his past statements on privatising the National Health Service and his praise for Vladmir Putin.

@Stigabell tweeted: “I see Nigel Farage appeared on the BBC again to accuse the BBC of failing to cover him and his party.”

@davemacladd added: “So it turns out to be incredibly easy to take down right wing charlatans Nigel Farage and Ben Shapiro after all. ‘Do you still stand by the [ offensive / disproven / contradictory / inflammatory ] thing you said?’ Let them squirm, bluster, dissemble and repeat.”

@Argyleloz wrote: “What a pathetic sight #Farage pretending to be the victim of tough @BBC questioning, filibustering because he hates being reminded of his rampant xenophobic past, the sooner he is drummed out of our politics, the sooner peace/tolerance will return #Marr.”

@Drleejones commented: “Attempts to smear The Brexit Party as “far right” and the “gotcha” focus on Farage’s record are simply not going to dent the party’s support, because what drives it is a singular concern for democracy, not agreement with Farage’s personal views.”

@montie posted: “Farage channeling Trump in this ferocious counter-attack to some very stale questions. Just waiting for him to call #Marr an enemy of the people.”

#TONYBLAIR

Tony Blair says that a no-deal Brexit will lead to a ‘silent revolution’. The former prime minister made the statement as he joined Sky News broadcaster Sophy Ridge to discuss Brexit, Jeremy Corbyn and the upcoming European elections.

@Ridgeonsunday tweeted: “‘It’s one issue politics at the moment.’ Former prime minister Tony Blair says that Nigel Farage and others “created the swamp” of British politics.”

@Bdabell replied: “Why give that man airtime? Who wants to listen to his ramblings anyway?”

@Jasoncowleyns said: “Tony Blair on Ridge: No deal will lead to a silent revolution in which the main parties will be swept away!”

@danbloom1 commented: “Tony Blair tells Sky: ‘I talk to the people who are in Change UK a lot, yeah.

A lot of what they say I sympathise with’.”
