Seagull found wrapped in kite in bin put down

A sea gull has been put down after being dumped in a bin–where it was found wrapped in a kite.

The bird was discovered in Prestwick, South Ayrshire, after a member of the public heard “rustling” coming from the bin.

The kite was stuck around the gull’ s neck and the bird was seriously injured with a broken wing. Sadly, after being examined by vets, the animal was put to sleep.

It is not known if the bird was deliberately put in the bin, but the Scottish SPCA is investigating and appealed to the public for more information.
