#DORISDAY

The legendary screen star has died at the age of 97 sparking a wave of tributes from around the world. She was famed for her musical numbers and starred in movies including Pillow Talk and That Touch of Mink.

@apaulbullock tweeted: “Very sad to hear of Doris Day’s passing. A perfect movie star who lit up the screen any time she was on it.”

@Billkristol said: “Upon hearing of the death of Doris Day, my thoughts immediately went to Hitchcock’s The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956). I haven’t seen it in decades but who could forget Doris Day singing Que Sera, Sera?”

@erinruberry wrote: “Doris Day quit Hollywood and dedicated her life to rescuing animals and if that’s not goals, I don’t know what is.”

@Raindance said: “We are saddened to hear about the passing of legendary actress Doris Day. Thank you for always lighting up the screen.”

@TVGMLOGAN added: “RIP Doris Day. No one brought more pure joy to the screen than this wonderful lady. A fabulous comedian. A stunning dramatic actress. A true friend to animals.”

#JEREMYKYLE

ITV has pulled The Jeremy Kyle Show from its schedule and suspended filming after a participant died following the filming of an episode. The show has been suspended with immediate effect and an investigation is underway.

@carolecadwalla tweeted: “I went undercover on Jeremy Kyle show in 2008 and found a vulnerable mentally ill young man being bullied and abused. Now someone’s dead. Amazed it took this long.”

@Ayocaesar wrote: “It shouldn’t have taken someone dying for The Jeremy Kyle Show to be taken off the air. For nearly 15 years it profited from exploiting addiction, poverty and human misery. It’s a damning indictment of how deeply sadistic our society is when it comes to the poor and the vulnerable.”

@tarajaneoreilly said: “Finally the Jeremy

Kyle show is over. The fetishisation of working class people’s poverty and misery in pop culture is grim and pits working class people against each other. Growing up, ‘you’ll end up on Jeremy Kyle’ was another classist ‘you’ll be flipping burgers in Mcdonalds.”
