Beeks Financial Cloud builds NY presence

- By SCOTT REID

Paisley-based Beeks Financial Cloud Group is extending its portfolio of data centre locations with a deal for a second site in New York.

In addition to the deal in the Big Apple with data centre provider Equinix, B eeks has extended its current space at an Equinix site in London.

The Scots firm said that with its presence in 11 data centres it would be able to increase its offering to customers, supplying the opportunity for further connectivity options to financial exchanges. It also allows Beeks to scale its current Equinix footprint by expansion into these particular data centres.

Chief executive Gordon Mc Arthur said :“We are delighted to strengthen our partnership with Equinix by expanding in these sites. The London LD4 data centre has always proven a popular location for our customers and it is satisfying to be able to continue to meet this demand by adding our third cage. An additional New York site will bring further hosting and connectivity options to our clients.”

Russell Poole, Equ in ix’ s managing director for the UK and the Nordics, added: “Beeks Financial Cloud is a key player in our financial services ecosystem, and it’s great to have them doubling their footprint in two of our leading markets – London and New York.”

Last week, B eeks revealed that it had snapped up a US-based online service provider. The Aim-quoted firm, in a $1.4 million (£1.1m) deal, acquired the assets of Commercial Network Services, which specialises in hosting trading systems and networks in London, New York and Los Angeles.
