Macfarlane flags positive trading in year to date

Scottish packaging group Macfarlane said it would continue with its twin-track growth strate - gy after flagging a positive start to the year.

In a trading update to coincide with its annual shareholder meeting, the Glasgow-based company said it would maintain its focus on growing organic ally in target markets, “supplemented by the acquisition of good quality packaging businesses”.

Earlier this month, the firm, which is celebrating its 70 th anniversary this year, sealed the multimillion-pound takeover of Ecopac (UK), a protective packaging distribution business based in Buckinghamshire. Macfarlane said it was confident of “another year of good progress”.
