Nairn’s Scott on shortlist for Nicklaus Award in US
S andy S cott has b ecome the second Scottish golfer this year to be nominated for an award bearing the name of one of the legends of the game.
A s t r i n g o f s t r o n g p e rformances on the US coll e g e c i r c u i t , i n c l u d i n g a recent victory, has earned t h e Tex a s Te c h j u n i o r a place on the shor tlist for t h e 2 0 19 Div i s i o n I Ja c k Nicklaus National Player of the Year Award.
S cott, a Nairn memb er a n d o n e o f s i x S c o t t i s h p l aye r s n a me d r e c e n t l y in an initial Great Britain & Ireland squad for this year’s Walker Cup, is currently 13th in the Golfstat rankings in the US.
H e h a s c h a l ke d u p s i x top-ten finishes, including that breakthrough victory in last month’s El Macero Classic, which he followed by claiming fifth spot in the Big 12 Conference Championship The Greenbrier.
