Just when it looked like Saints were going to be set for the play-offs in a typical performance against ten men, the two Kyles popped up to ensure it would take the battle to finish tenth to the final day. Mcallister and Magennis were always likely to grab the headlines after the tense 90 minutes, but captain Stephen Mcginn put in an almight y second half – displaying flashes of his brilliance that drove St Mirren to the Championship title last season.

Oran Kearney can be immensely proud of his achievements in taking the play- off battle to the end of the season, especially when relegation looked almost done and dusted during the early months of 2019.
