Heated debate

-

Scots have been urged to tackle climate change as a “shared national endeavour” as the Scottish Government announced a green summit with businesses and a sweeping review of all policies. Environment secretary, Roseanna Cunningham, said the issue was “not just about government action”.

I can’t remember the exact number, but Scotland’s carbon output is less than 1% in global terms. Until you get the likes of India and China on board, we are wasting our time.

The Hiker

No, we are showing the path to India and China. Leading by example. If we just give up then we are screwed too.

You really believe China will be led by Scotland, or even the UK?

Edmund North Both China and India have consulates in Edinburgh so why are there no protests outside of them? Why is it that we have to pay huge amounts in tax and have our economy destroyed for absolutely no reason.

What a load of ignorant nonsense; there is no climate crisis.

Alex Sinclair So all the space agencies with their satellite data are wrong?

kmcn

Why do you think they are wrong? The data produced by the various agencies clearly indicate we are not in the midst of,or heading towards, a climate catastrophe; so you can see that Arctic sea ice, which should have disappeared by now according to the green zealots, is today extending to approximately 12 million square kilometres. That’s a lot of ice!

Alex Sinclair

The satellite data have consistently shown no warming for over 20 years. The thermometer readings have been consistently manipulated upwards to compensate for this inconvenient truth.

Weescunner

I don’t dispute that there is climate change but climate was changing before there were any people on these islands , the demise of the dinosaurs was definitely not our fault. It’s amazing that all these geniuses are happy to ignore the fact that there has always been climate change but because a Swedish schoolgirl says there’s a crisis they are all panicking.
