Flagship trust tops benchmark
Scottish Mortgage, the investment trust run by Bail lie Gifford in Edinburgh, said strong performances from the likes of Amazon helped it beat its benchmark index last year.
It delivered a 16.5 per cent total share price return for investors compared with a 10.7 percent return from the FT SE All-World index. Its five-year return now stands at 157.1 per cent compared with 110.8 per cent from its benchmark.
