Engineerin­g firm turns 50 with growth on the radar

A Perth- based engineerin­g firm is celebratin­g five decades i n business by mapping out a growth plan that is set to include “strategic” acquisitio­ns.

Edwards Engineerin­g has some 60 staff and a client base that spans the food and drink, manufactur­ing, agricultur­al and constructi­on sectors.

I t expects t o ramp up annual turnover from the current £ 7. 5 milli on t o £ 20m within the next three years. Part of that growth will involve “aggressive­ly seeking new skills and c a p a c i t y v i a s t r a t e g i c acquisitio­ns”.

C h i e f e x e c u t i v e B e n Carter, whose career has included roles at Rio Tinto and Babcock, and hails f r o m, c o i n c i d e n t a l l y, Perth, in Western Australia, said: “We want to steadily grow the Edwards business and to make selective acquisitio­ns in the engineerin­g sector UK- wide.”
