Sillars says it’s ‘impossible’ to vote for Eu-infatuated SNP

- By PARIS GOURTSOYANNIS

Former S NP deputy leader Jim S ill ars has said he will not vote for the nationalists in this week’s European elections because their “infatuation” with the EU puts the prospect of independence at risk.

Writing in The Sunday Times, Mr Sillars claimed the SNP leadership had “alienated hundreds of thousands of independence-supporting ‘leave’ voters in Scotland”.

He added: “The call to vote and stop B rex it makes it impossible for me, who chose to leave, to vote for the SNP in this election.”

Mr Sillars warned the EU’S refusal to give an independent Scotland automatic entry “will be used against us again if the UK remains in the EU”.
