Who do you think you are kidding? Crowds get into the spririt of a 1940s re-enactment weekend

Crowds of people gathered to enjoy a 1940s weekend in the small Yorkshire village of Ha worth. Events included vintage vehicle displays, an evacuees event, re-enactments, “speeches from Churchill ”, jiving, singing and bands playing. Organise r Andrea Leathley, 56, praised the people who come along, saying: “We get more popular every year. I think people embrace the singers, military vehicles and battle re - enactments. They give us a real atmosphere. The village is buzzing. People who did come when we started were reluctant to dress up too. Now ever yone who do esn’t lo oks out of place.”
