Macdonald’s best-of-the-day 67 lifts her into a tie for sixth

Scot Kelsey Macdonald produced the b est round of the final day of the inaugural La Reser va de S otogrande Invitat iona lin Spain when she shot 67 to move up into a tie for sixth place.

England’s Charlotte Thompson finished in a tie for third after shooting a three-underpar 69 yesterday.

Thompson had been the joint halfway leader before carding 78 on Saturday to slip down to tenth, six shots off the lead at one over.

After around yesterday which featured five birdies and an eagle, the 26-year-old ended upon two under par for the tournament, four shots behind the eventual winner, France’s Celine Herbin who carded a final-day 69.

Herbin was a shot clear of German Esther Henseleit, who finished with a 70.

Herbin’s compatriot Camille Chevalier and Sweden’s Caroline Hedwall were alongside Thompson at two under.
