‘Eat more yoghurt to reduce anxiety’

Anxiety symptoms could be alleviated by eating more yogurt or adjusting the diet, according to a review of studies that has identifed a potentiall­y useful link between gut bacteria and mental health.

People who experience anxiety symptoms, such as feeling nervous, restless or fearful, might be helped if they took steps to regulate the micro - organisms in their gut using a mix of probiotic and non-probiotic food and supplement­s, according to researcher­s at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine.
